5 Secrets to selling your home

March 1, 2017adminUncategorizedNo Comments

5 Secrets for selling your home

1.) De-personalize.
When people walk through your home they’re going to want to picture their own lives being lived out there. That can be hard to do when they’re looking at your family vacation photos from Hawaii. Remove anything personal that would draw someone’s attention to focusing on your life and not how their life could be in that home.

2.) Repair windows and doors.
Windows and doors make your home look bright and inviting. Put a little love into them. Look for cracked panes, missing or loose parts, or any other visible damage and fix them up and make them look new again. For some doors, you can even try a fresh coat of paint.

3.) Empty the closets half-way.
Storage is extremely important to most buyers. You can simply never have enough of it. By cleaning the closets out half-way you’re highlighting not only the size but how it looks with items in them. It’s easier for buyers to be able to compare how their items may fit. Just make sure the items you leave there are clean and organized.

4.) Fresh coat of paint.
A fresh coat of paint can go a long way. By using warm, neutral tones your home will look cleaner, brighter, and more appealing. You want the space to look bright and happy to entice buyers to want to spend their time there.

5.) Make it bright.
Make sure to maximize the lighting in your home. Open or take down drapes that would make your rooms look darker and keep out light. Clean windows, change lamp shades and use higher wattage light bulbs in lamps. Often, when buyers are looking for a new home one of the top things they’ll look for is good light.
